So I merrily cruised through the holidays, with my biggest concern being what snacks to make, and if my dress pants need ironing. Now real life sets in.
I saw on CTV (Canadian news, of which I don't care for...) that the new passport rules come into effect on January 23rd (I think...) Well this is not good for me, as I 'misplaced' my passport a few months back.
This is not like me. If you ask me where anything is in this house I can tell its location within inches. If you need to find an obscure picture on the computer, no problem, I can find it. If you require the sales receipt for the stove purchased in '03, including user manual and warranty, give me 10 seconds and it will be in your hand. So, now you can see why this drives me nuts - not even considering that if I started today to get a new passport, because it is 'lost' I have to jump through many more bureaucratic hoops, and would probably not receive the document until April or May.
This makes going to dinner at Mexican Village, going shopping at Ikea, and going to Tennessee an impossibility. My sister thought the new rules don't come into effect until later this year... I hope that she is right.
Here are things that I hope to accomplish this week:
-Start the passport process - oh that will be fun...
-Have the 3 kids sleep over.
-Make super awesome, incredible homemade mac n'cheese - double the recipe and share with my Mom and Mom G.
-Clean out the car - it's a hot mess
-Resolve Tennessee banking and billing issues - I have to wait on PF, but it's well under way.
-Do taxes - I'm self employed so that involves going through about a thousand receipts - no problem though, because I'm incredible organized, taxes should only take about two hours.
-Do GST - I have to do this before the taxes, as it part of the organizational process.
-Get week-end showings for out of town buyer prepared, oh, better start today...
Hmm, now I feel a little overwhelmed. I think once I get the passport thing started I'll feel a little less anxious...
