Step aside Mr. Clancy

I am one of the millions of people that eagerly, with baited breath, awaited the release of the new Harry Potter book. My mother-in-law ordered 2 copies the day that Chapters started taking orders. My sister-in-law picked up the books at Chapters at 2 am Saturday morning. I'm sure by now she is finished reading it, and is actually on her way to Vegas...

When we arrived home last night from our friends' annual golf and pool party (early as I was completely overcome by a migraine... nice timing..), we arrived home to find that MomG dropped off the pooch, and my copy of Harry Potter. Happy birthday to me! Yay that it is also not a misprint like the last HP book I received that was upside down, it irked me every time I picked it up... although it is super cool to own one of the rare misprints...

I'm currently reading 'Red Storm Rising' by Tom Clancy. It's fairly painful as many of his books are. It's quite descriptive of all things military, but I'm hacking through it, and it really didn't get interesting until page 256. Really. I'm on page 550 with about 400 pages to go. Needless to say, I'll be putting this down until I've completed Harry Potter. Hopefully I'll be done by tomorrow morning.

I'd also like to thank everyone who made my feel special on and around my birthday. It was really great, and I appreciate the calls, cards, and little gifts...(Billy also gave me 2lbs of Nibs to go along with the new furniture.. should come in handy for nourishment while reading HP) I hope that you all feel as good, (not counting the migraine...) on your birthdays...
