It is absolutely gorgeous outside today, with the temperature only expected to reach 80*. Am I at a time in my life when the weather is the most important thing happening? I hope not!
Last night I golfed with Dian at a course that I've only played once, (Sutton Creek is re-opening to members tonight, as the Ontario Amateurs are finishing up), and it pretty much kicked my butt. However: the greens are much, much slower, longer and slopier than I'm used to, it's a significantly longer course, it was incredibly windy, I'm not familiar with the course, and the back nine, which we played is a par 38 for the women. So there. I guess I'll take my 49 a be happy to be out with a friend on a beautiful night. Roseland is a really mature course in the middle of South Windsor and has gorgeous, huge trees, so that was great.
Today is my last closing. Am I sad? Remorseful? Regretting my decision? Hell no, not even for a second! I'm seeing some bullshit that the women who took over my business is dealing with and I'm so glad not to be out of it! I'm on the nature trail instead, smelling the flowers, listening to the birds, and surrounded by beauty. She is on the roller coaster, next to a fat sweaty guy, and behind a screaming kid that just puked. Hows that for an analogy? Pretty good me thinks.
Yep.
So today's Big Plan is to visit my clients in A'burg for a few minutes, hit Erie Shore Winery, as everyone has decided that Sellar Secret is better than Summer Sun, clean the house, (I'm almost done, I've also watered the garden, visited with my Mom and MomG, checked email, etc...) golf 18 holes in the couples league, (it's only 9, but we're feeling some withdrawals), and maybe, maybe attend the festivities at the Essex Beer Tent.
Here are some reasons that I can't stand the Essex Beer Tent:
- Way too many people
- Way too many eleventeen year olds (my first time drinking there, I was 15....)
- Way too many drunk people that I went to high school with, who are like, 'yeah, I'll call you, we should totally get together!' Blah, blah, blah!
- Way too many slutty girls dressed in slutty girl apparel, and the occasional high heels (It's an outdoor beer tent, you moron!)
- Way too loud music
Probably the best part of the beer tent is watching the people trip over the huge pegs and ropes in the ground. Classic. Also, the porta john area is pretty humorous. Also funny to see what people you know purchased a new outfit for the festivus.
Here are some funny pics that I found from Fun Fest years past. I think they speak for themselves... except the guy on the mechenical bull is the Mayor!

I'll keep you updated.
Oh, I also would like to say happy blogging birthday to me, it was a year on July 10th. Woo hoo!
