Good use of my time

I'm a lurker. I read people's blogs whom I have never met, and I like it. I'm sure I have some lurkers too. I wish my blog was more exciting, sorry.

First I'd like to say poor TOL, of all the fit, busy, people with demanding jobs and a very active lifestyle, her achilles tendon decided to detach apparently while rounding 3rd base. Surgery Thursday. Good luck TOL. It makes my toes feel funny thinking about it....

Now, on to today's mission. Gus Greeper's blog, a favorite lurk of mine, she talks about the upcoming season of CSI Vegas and 24. I was pretty surprised to read that 'Tony' will be returning at least for the season premiere. I was pretty sure he died a while back, and I hate when shows assume the audience is retarded and they bring back characters from the dead, etc. Remember when Kathy Bates from Misery goes off on James Cann about seeing a movie 'serial' when she was a kid, and the hero was about to go over a cliff, then the next week the hero is seen miraculously escaping? Yeah, like that...

I looked it up on IMDB, then I found the 'truth' on Wikipedia (love Wikipedia), here's the copy-paste:

On September 19, 2007 it was confirmed in a FOX press release that Tony Almeida will return in the premiere of Season 7. Show-runner Howard Gordon explained that Tony's "uncertain fate" left the door open for his return[2] and cited the lack of a silent clock as a deliberate move to keep his death ambiguous.[3] "We didn't give him the silent clock because we always wanted to keep alive the possibility for some kind of (admittedly) miraculous resurrection ... which we will explain," and followed up with "He's definitely NOT the Almeida we once knew."

Uncertain fate and ambiguous death. Leave it to me to assume someone is dead... anyway, I'm okay with that. Oh yeah, Janeane Garofalo on 24? I can't see it, but whatever... oh, and another female president? I swear more shows have chicks for presidents than guys these days, vogue.

Now onto Sara Sidle from CSI Vegas...

I can't seem to find any definitive answer whether she lives or dies. You don't want to know what I'm hoping for... (I sometimes regress to when I was 6 watching 'Superfriends' and always hoping that once, just once the bad guys would win...)

I do like CSI Vegas, but it is not one of my favorites anymore. It is quite annoying when members of the forensic team is interviewing suspects, like c'mon! As if! Reminds me of 'Baywatch' when the FBI allowed David Hasselhoff's character to negotiate with kidnappers. Sure, that could happen... a lifeguard has those skills, I'm sure of it!

By far, way far, the absolutely most annoying and bothersome aspect of CSI (the entire franchise really... but we'll focus on Vegas....) is that the offices and laboratories are dark. You can hardly see anything. Always a blue-ish colour. The hallways are brighter than the labs. When they enter a crime scene, they never flick on lights, or use anything more than a flashlight to look around. Ugh! It's so annoying that I've never made it through a whole episode without yelling, "Hey Gil, turn on the freakin' lights!"

Now that I've ranted about something as silly as a TV show, I'm going to comment on Horatio Cane from CSI Miami. Here it is, are you ready? The guy is the least cool person ever in the history of mankind. Billy likes him and I think that he is such a loser. (Horatio, not Billy...) I have a hard time watching the show. I sometimes hope that someone will come from nowhere and kick his ass. That would be a good episode.

No more IMDB today, or playing around with photo editing... I'll be productive and use my time wisely.
