It's always fun and a bit strange when I arrive at the house in Tennessee. Because we rent it out weekly as a vacation getaway to people we know, (and sometimes friends of friends....) there are always strange things left there.
Some discoveries are incredibly wrong, (like the little girls' dirty underwear I found in a footlocker), and somethings are great, (someone once put up a TV antennae).
Other items make me shake my head. Here's some examples of things at the house:
- 18 foam beer coolies. I realize that someone didn't go out and buy 18 foam coolies, but over time they've added up.
- Thomas the some train part birthday party hats. Wow, I really missed some party!
- 5 bibles
- 4 salt and pepper shakers
- 6 boxes of Kleenex spread throughout the house (That's more than 1 per room!)
Opening the fridge and the cupboards is always an adventure. Last time Billy and I were there we discovered:
- A 50 pack of hot dogs. (50!)
- A case of Old Milwalkee (I'm sure that was PF's)
- 4 bottles of Clamato juice (also PF)
- A case of 'snowballs' (Cake covered with coconut...)
- Rotting limes and carrots
- A box of ice cream that was ripped apart, perhaps in a feeding frenzy.
Other times I have arrived at the house to see that items are missing. The worst was arriving to discover no toilet paper, (as well as paper towels) luckily there was Kleenex... if you know what I mean.
It's always exciting! Occasionally I'm super pissed, but I'm so looking forward to going next week, (we were also the last ones there...) I'm only thinking of the good stuff.
