Well, I'm still painting Mrs. Grady's house. It took me 3 hours to tape the room, (my least favorite part of the job, and equally the least rewarding, except when I'm finished, there is much less 'touch ups' to do...) The actual first coat took a solid 5 hours. Luckily from experience (yes, I said experience, I've painted every square inch of flat surface - except floors and counters - in the house in Tennessee, at least once...) I know that the second coat takes much less time to complete, and of course, the taping is done. It will look really good when I'm done, although for a time yesterday I was concerned that the colour was peachy-looking. It looks better now, when dry. Mrs. Grady will love it, and that's what matters.
I have this client that won't email me back. I'm a little frustrated with that. "Hello, do you want to sell your house? You need a price reduction! You need to email me!" Oh well, if that's my biggest complaint, then I'm doing okay.
Yesterday the Detroit news' 'breaking story' was a winter storm watch FOR FRIDAY. HELLO! IT"S WEDNESDAY! In addition to that, the actual watch is for the west side of the state. Detroit news always blow weather way out of proportion. It borders on ridiculous, and you almost can't believe anything they say. Often they'll predict 10 inches of snow, and we'll only get less than an inch. Rarely, I mean RARELY do they underestimate... In contrast, the news in Tennessee is pretty lax about the weather. Meanwhile, if they get more than 2 inches, pretty much everything closes, or opens with a delay. Does this make sense? For really good weather prediction in this area, Billy and I find the Toledo news to be the most accurate. (I don't watch Windsor weather, because they always seems to be for the London area, and a little blurb about ours. Very annoying. (Oh, and embarrassingly, I don't 'know' Celsius beyond 0* is cold and 30* is hot, and you can wear shorts somewhere in between...)
On Saturday morning, Billy ventures to Buffalo, (of all places to go....) He and Davey are taking in a Bills game, and will probably hit the casino in Niagara Falls, and find a good steakhouse. Lucky boys. To me that would be a prefect week-end getaway. I'd rather do that than shop, or... what do girls do when they go away? Oh, we watched a show one time, that was fun... hmm... I may have to think about that one... I'm sure Billy will have a great time, and he totally deserves it.
I can either hear the dog in the other room poking about or a mouse. I think it's a mouse. I don't want to go look, so instead I'll cross my legs underneath me, and continue to ignore the sound.
Well I should think about heading to Mrs. Grady's. It's dark and gray, and threatening rain, so no walk for the dog today. Truly nothing better to do than paint.
